About the Monk

Perhaps only a poem can really sum my situation. It would be this one (not “Freefalling” though that is a good one).

No “In the Hollows” is best and ends right where I am now (though written a decade ago).

So having been and apologist, pastor, preacher, teacher, journalist, scientific illustrator, writer, editor, photograher, artist, inventor, site architect and now a novelist, I now find myself a high tech monk.

I live in a Mission, serve the poor, study the Bible daily, pray an awful lot, am accountable to other men and live a celibate life of poverty.

Hey, if it looks like a monk, acts like a monk, eats like a monk…

These are my meanderings for your edification not mine. If you struggle with your own gifts and calling, with an addiction or two, or what life given wholly over to God might look like (besides terrifying) then you should come along for the ride.

Comment as you will and ask questions. My ego is far too healthy and could use some more beatings.

Joyfully yours,

The Macman

Why aren’t you writing bro? Put it down – chronicle your story with honesty – it will help!
